Description
1. Objective:
Execute wall-to-wall inventory counts throughout the entire warehouse, determine the Total Inventory Accuracy Indicator in terms of location and total quantity.
2. Methodology:
A physical count involves counting an SKU, an area, a subinventory, or the entire warehouse to verify reliability
All items must be counted by inventory position
The count must be blind
The theoretical (system) must be compared against the physical
Discrepancies must be clarified or the inventory adjusted
3. Deliverables:
Result of the annual wall-to-wall count regarding total inventory accuracy, materials with high discrepancy percentages, and root cause analysis. Development of a total inventory counting procedure.
