Description

1. Objective:

Provide consulting on the applications of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) from engineering drawings (designs) to production processes of parts that need to meet certain characteristics for use or assembly to ensure quality and reliability.

2. Methodology:

• • Explain that drawings formalize communication and interpretation according to the ASME Y14.5-2018 standard between customers (designers) and suppliers (manufacturers), including practices for reviewing drawings and geometric tolerances.

3. Deliverable:

• • Assistance in identifying geometric measurements (part configuration, size, and shape)
  • Interpreting critical functional relationships
  • Explaining permissible tolerances for proper function
  • Consulting on material types, heat treatment, and part coatings
